Charter Day - A Fall Festival:
A birthday celebration party is coming to the Town of Port Royal! Saturday, Oct. 26th from 11-5. Port Royal received it's Town Charter, Oct. 25, 1744.
Charter Day will offer historical education (including learning about the tragic end to Port Royal's own infamous pirate "Pnueman's End"), river history and activities, professional vendors, food (sales benefit the Port Royal Volunteer Fire Dept), Contests (costume contest, pumpkin decorating); Raffles: 50/50 raffle and massive pumpkin raffle; and Children's Activities ( Children and Families participate in "old timey games" like sack races, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races, egg toss - and others. These Youth and Family activities are sponsored and monitored by the Port Royal Area Churches and Caroline County Parks and Recreation.
Beer will be for sale, so please bring your picture ID. Water and soda stations will be available (separate from the food area) for quick and easy access.
There will be a Community Yard Sale from 7 AM -12 Noon in the parking lot of River Haven Restaurant on Main Street in Port Royal (at the foot of the Rappahannock Bridge on RT. US-301). If you would like to participate the Yard Sale (selling) spaces are $10.00 to reserve (payment by Oct 20th). No businesses, please! If you are a business, please consider applying as a Vendor for the main event.
Live Music will be provided by King George County's own: "Gary Lee Tolley and Friends". Playing "beach country" tunes. CD's are available now at the cost of $10.00 to benefit the Town. If you want one just email us.
We have confirmed our Master of Ceremonies for the event (our M.C.) Cap'n Jaxx Parrow, The Blue Eye Pirate - a Johnny Depp as Cap'n Jack Sparrow impersonator. Cap'n Jaxx Parrow will be available for free pics (you take) with party goers (young and old!).
So save the date! Prepare yourselves to join us as a vendor (Vendor reservations begin at $35.00, payment due by Oct. 10th) or as a guest! There will definitely be something for everyone to enjoy!
