Part-Time, Work as Required Position (several positions available)
Fills in for regular full-time operators when there is a manpower shortage due to vacations, illnesses, training or other absences that would cause the Water Treatment Plant to be under-staffed.
There are no guaranteed number of hours worked per week, or shift times.
Under general supervision, performs responsible technical work in the operation and general maintenance of equipment at the water treatment plant. Work involves collecting and testing water samples and controlling mechanical, electrical, and chemical equipment involved in pumping and/or treating water. Employee is also responsible for adjusting chemical feed as required. Employee must exercise judgment based on training and experience in making decisions and coordinating the proper operation of equipment. Reports to the Plant Manager.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and must possess either Class 1,2, or 3 Waterworks License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginina.
Employee must possess a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Must pass pre-employment post-offer physical and respirator testing.
