42nd Annual Blessing of the Fleet

The community is invited to participate in the 42nd annual Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday, May 6th.

The parade of boats will begin at 3:30 pm and proceed up Cockrell’s Creek to the ceremony site on Menhaden Road off of Fleeton Road in Reedville. The service will begin at 4:00 pm.

The Honorary Harbormaster is Captain Marvin B. "Mate" Swift and the keynote speaker is Del. Margaret Ransone. The Northumberland High School Symphonic Band and the choirs from St. Mary's Episcopal Fleeton and Bethany United Methodist will be joined by the Reedville Chorale for a lovely set of music and hymns.

Please join us by land or by sea to honor our watermen, pray for a fruitful bounty, and receive the
blessing for our boats.

This event is sponsored by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Fleeton and Omega Protein.

In case of inclement weather, the rain date is set for May 13th. For additional questions, please contact us at St. Mary's (804) 453-7146
