ConnectRappahannock Becomes Northern Neck Connection
The director and advisory council is pleased to announce that the organization formerly known as ConnectRappahannock is now Northern Neck Connection.
We have implemented changes in our structure as well as rebuilding our technology. Northern Neck Connection’s mission is to strengthen our community and enhance nonprofit development. Our purpose is to serve as a catalyst for communication and interaction among our nonprofit organizations, government, businesses and individuals.
Northern Neck Connection is an online resource that promotes community information and interaction. The website connects citizens with more than 400 nonprofit and civic organizations in the Northern Neck area and encourages the public to engage with a variety of social concerns including education, arts and culture, health, human needs, economic development, seniors and public safety, among others. Northern Neck Connection helps local groups communicate with area residents about their missions and to publicize their events, volunteer opportunities, job openings, and other information so that people can easily find the services they need or discover ways to get involved in community affairs. We believe that by helping nonprofits work effectively and by advocating a culture of philanthropic support, the Northern Neck can be a stronger community with enhanced economic stability and high quality of life.
Our technology overhaul will has made our website more interactive and user-friendly. The new website can be accessed at www.nnconnection.org.
We currently have the following training opportunities available:
March 20, 2012 - 12:30 p.m. – “Lunch and Learn” at the Community Resource Forum, Lancaster Community Library, Kilmarnock, VA.
March 27, 2012 – 12:30 p.m. – Northern Neck Connection training session at The Orchard, Warsaw, VA. Please RSVP to info@nnconnection.org or by calling 804-436-5980 by March 23, 2012.
Bring your own brown bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. Additional training events will be scheduled as needed. We are excited about our renewed presence and looking forward to sharing it with you.
