Historic Garden Week in the Northern Neck ~ April 25, 2018
Historic Gems Shine On in Historic Richmond CountyWarsaw, in the heart of Richmond County, is the site for Historic Garden Week in the Northern Neck on April 25th from 10 am to 4 pm. The event is sponsored by the Garden Club of the Northern Neck (GCNN) and is part of the Garden Club of Virginia’s (GCV) 85th annual week long tour of homes and gardens throughout Virginia. Funds raised are used to restore historic Virginia gardens and foster a partnership with Virginia State Parks. This year, the Northern Neck is the proud recipient of two GCV Centennial Grants to enhance the landscape at Belle Isle mansion and re-purpose the former visitor's center into a Discovery Educational Center at Westmoreland State Park. Garden tour visitors will experience the unique preservation of Menokin; the 18th century gardens of Sabine Hall; Jones House, home to a former congressman; Grove Mount, an original Georgian plantation; and Mount Airy, featuring renovations recently depicted on HGTV’s “American Rehab: Virginia.” Tour Co-Chairs: Sue Farmar and Betsy Terhune, Email: email@example.com Ticket Info: Advance tickets: $25 per person at www.vagardenweek.org or by mail until April 16.
