Environmental Inspector III/Plans Reviewer
Hiring Salary: $48,830.00 - $78,128.00 +/-DOQ Position Open Until Filled
Under general supervision, performs advanced technical and administrative support work for the Environmental Programs Department in property development plan review, inspection, legal and regulatory compliance, and application of federal, state, and local regulations. Director may assign areas of expertise (wetlands, storm water, E&S, Chesapeake Bay, etc.) based upon the needs of the Department. Employee must exercise initiative and independent judgment in the performance of job duties and exercise considerable tact, courtesy and firmness in frequent contact with property owners, contractors and the general public.
College level courses, continuing education units (CEUs), or Professional Development Units (PDU) in engineering, hydrology; hydraulics, storm water management, environmental science, soil conservation, or wetlands are required. Bachelors in biology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in erosion and sediment control / stormwater management inspection with five (5) to seven (7) years of environmental or local government experience. Direct local government experience with erosion and sediment control / storm water management plan review preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Review
• Stormwater Inspector
